How Labinf organized and centralized its cloud services with CloudFire

Labinf is a company that has been operating in the Information Technology market for over 40 years, and integrates solutions, services and technologies to companies for the digitalization of processes, supporting change and adapting its way of operating to the natural evolution of the ICT world and to the continuous alternation of new technologies.

Business Challenge

‍

Labing, like System Integrator consolidated and appreciated by its customers, it covers a range of services that meet concrete IT needs. Some of these services, prior to the intervention of CloudFire, were hosted on premises environments separated from each other and managed individually. This entailed, for each of us, gaps and difficulties that did not reflect the real added value that Labinf offers to its customer network.

Specifically, the on-premise environment in which CloudFire had the opportunity to operate, was structured as follows:

• On-premise VMware Cluster with Fibre Channel Storage
• ERP with automatic warehouse management;
• File server containing all the cross-cutting business documentation of all departments;
• Managed local backup on multiple copies within NAS in the same building.

Solution

‍

With the aim of making their offer centralized and organized, Labinf decided to believe in CloudFire and choose among the best cloud services in its ecosystem in order to offer its customers automated cloud services that can be managed from a single platform.

Specifically, it has implemented 4 services:

Public Cloud

‍

Local infrastructure migration and infrastructure activation in Public Cloud in CloudFire with a high-reliability VPN extension to create a Hybrid Cloud topology.

‍

Specifically, Labinf migrated existing VMs from their infrastructure, without reinstalling them, into CloudFire's Public Cloud infrastructure. In this way, Labinf has the ability to modify the necessary computational, storage and networking capacities at any time, ensuring dynamism and availability of the best resources in an on demand mode. Such an infrastructure ensures maximum performance for each of the allocated applications, distributing only the necessary resources, optimizing infrastructure costs, with the advantage of remaining free from hardware costs and multi-year contracts.

The ERP component has also been migrated, this has made it possible to Increase performance and grant users access to the software from any device. Finally, implemented in the Public Cloud infrastructure, a solution of Cyber Security within the infrastructure, ensuring a continuous data protection.

Drive4Business

‍

activation Drive4Business with the aim of optimizing access to the file server without VPN, maintaining the centralized file access control.

Many Labinf customers, in relation to their business model, need to connect to the corporate file server on the move, without a VPN and with different devices, maintaining a active collaboration between on-premise and mobile users, with no limits on sharing. For this reason, Drive4Business and the activation of the related agents for each user, allows you to access the file server from anywhere, optimizing resources, maintaining an intact work environment for those who work on site, and at the same time synchronized and available for those who work on the move.

Through the integration of active directory, the service synchronizes company policies, ensuring the replication of NTFS permissions. In this way, Lab.inf offers a file service. secure and flexible business sharing with powerful monitoring and control features for administrators such as distributed file locking, creating audits and change history, file versioning, and efficient collaboration capabilities for users.

Veeam Cloud Platform

Finally, Labinf was looking for a solution to archive a copy of Cloud backup, ensuring greater security and protection of the data, previously allocated only in local backup managed on several copies within NAS in the Labinf building. Labinf chooses, through the activation of the Veeam Cloud Platform, to save a copy in the cloud through Veeam Cloud Connect technology, ensuring data copy protection provided by the market leader in cloud backup software.

Furthermore, to ensure the immutability of the data within the storage, and thus prevent cancellations, intentional (or unintentional) modifications of the data, Labinf chooses a storage object lock, which integrated with the backup copy prevents any modification to the data up to the previously set date.

Acronis Cyber Backup

Another cloud backup solution used by Labinf is Acronis Cyber Backup, in fact, by installing the specific agent on the device to be backed up, they have the ability to choose and set up copies of the data by easily setting up jobs, retention and various addons from the dashboard. Labinf has also opted for the cloud to cloud solution for backing up Office 365. Innovative backup solution that doesn't need to install any agents.
