For the fourth edition of CloudFire Place, we welcomed Veeam back. After covering backup and security in April, we took things a step further by focusing on Disaster Recovery as a Service: how to design it, orchestrate it, and turn it into a concrete project to offer your clients.
You have a backup, but is it really enough in the event of a disaster?
That was the question we started the day with.
To answer it, we began by looking at data on cyber incidents in Italy and, more importantly, their consequences. The goal was to provide a clear picture of the risks that companies and their data face every day. Faced with these risks, our partners can position themselves as the solution and turn these challenges into opportunities.
From there, we dove into the tools, exploring the latest features and licensing for Veeam Data Platform V13, followed by Veeam Recovery Orchestrator for building automated and testable recovery plans. Next, we took a deep dive into Disaster Recovery for VMware environments: replication to a DR site, failover, failback, and defining realistic RTOs and RPOs. We complemented the technical side with commercial insights to provide more context for those building Disaster Recovery projects. Using the Veeam Calculator, we looked at how to estimate costs and which factors to consider when preparing and presenting a proposal to a client.
The sessions were led by Giulia Trinceri and Catalin Malcoci from CloudFire, together with members of the Veeam Italy team: Francesco Bonetti (Advisory Systems Engineer), Luca Dell’Oca (Principal Solutions Architect - Managed Services) and Daniele Megli (Sales Professional and Partnership Development Manager).
That is exactly why CloudFire Place exists: to create a space where vendors, CloudFire specialists, and partners can share expertise and tackle the real-world challenges faced by IT infrastructure managers together. We believe the value we provide to our partners comes from both our technology and the knowledge we build together. Every event adds another piece to a journey that grows one meeting at a time.
